FAQ

Not entirely - it depends on the product. The full delete kit and EGR Cooler Delete fit 2006–2007 LBZ only. The lly Duramax gets tuner support through the EFI Live AutoCal V3 (covers both LLY and LBZ) and the exhaust systems fit both platforms. If you've got a 2004.5–2005 LLY, the tuner and exhaust are your options - the EGR hardware isn't available for LLY in this collection. Check your RPO sticker to confirm your engine code before ordering.

EFI Live offers four power levels: Stock, Eco/Tow (+65HP), Street (+100HP), and Max Power (+130HP). Most truck owners run the Street or Tow calibration for daily driving and towing. The Max Power calibration is intended for more aggressive setups - the LBZ's CP3 injection system handles it well, but keep in mind that the LBZ is known for head gasket stress under heavy modification at high power levels. Torque climbs with the horsepower gains - you'll feel it most in throttle response and mid-range pull.

Yes - particularly on the Eco/Tow calibration. Removing the EGR system stops soot from recirculating through the intake, which lets the engine run cleaner and more efficiently. Most owners report 1–3 MPG improvement on highway. Running the Max Power tune aggressively won't save fuel - it'll make power instead. Proper maintenance of the delete calibration keeps fuel efficiency consistent over time.

The factory tow rating doesn't change - that's set by the frame and axle. What changes is how the engine delivers power under load. EGTs drop, throttle response sharpens and airflow stays cleaner under sustained load. The Eco/Tow tune is specifically calibrated for sustained load - it adds +65HP while keeping the calibration conservative enough for long pulls.

The exhaust is a bolt-on job from underneath - most owners handle it in a few hours. The EGR Cooler Delete takes more time because the cooler sits tight between the intake manifold and the block on the LBZ. Plan for a full day if you're doing both. The EFI Live calibrations are transferred to the AutoCal interface and flashed through the OBD-II port. Every kit ships with detailed instructions, and we're available by phone if you need help during the install.
