Custom Tune Files Vehicle-specific calibrations prepared after purchase using the supplied VIN, tuner serial number, and truck information.
Full EGR Delete Kit Includes the block-off plates, coolant-routing parts, fittings, and hardware required to remove the EGR valve and cooler.
4-Inch or 5-Inch Exhaust High-quality exhaust options designed to replace the restrictive factory pipe and improve airflow.
Muffler Option Allows the exhaust package to be configured with a muffler for less noise or without one for a louder sound.
Installation Instructions Provides the main mechanical installation and BDX tuning procedures.

Vehicle Compatibility

  • Make: Ford.
  • Platform: Super Duty.
  • Model years: 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007.
  • Supported models: F250, F350, and F450 Pickup trucks.
  • Engine: 6.0L Powerstroke diesel.
  • Body style: Pickup only.
  • Not compatible: Cab & Chassis models.

The 6.0L Powerstroke does not have a factory DPF, DEF, or SCR system. This fitment includes EGR removal, custom tuning, and the selected exhaust upgrade; it must not be represented as removing emissions components that these trucks never had.

How Work?

The 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 6.0 Powerstroke delete kit combines custom electronic tuning, EGR removal hardware, and the selected exhaust in one All-in-One bundle. The BDX calibration changes the engine strategy to support removal of the EGR system and prevent related warnings. Mechanical parts remove the EGR valve and cooler, stopping soot-filled exhaust gas from being routed back into the intake. The replacement exhaust provides a less restrictive path while the custom tune allows the engine to perform correctly with the installed hardware.

Features

The 6.0 Powerstroke delete kit is built around custom files rather than generic preloaded tuning. Its BDX tuner arrives without a vehicle-specific delete file; the required calibrations are prepared after the VIN and device serial number are submitted. The handheld platform supports multiple tune storage, diagnostics, and monitoring of available engine data. The package is designed for these older Ford models and includes compatible mechanical components instead of universal parts.

This is not a 6.0 Powerstroke CCV delete kit. The factory CCV system remains in place unless a separate CCV product is purchased and installed.

Tuning & Settings

The delete kit for 6.0 Powerstroke offers several custom horsepower levels. Each tune must be selected and flashed using the BDX rather than treated as a permanently active on-screen adjustment.

Tune Level Power Increase Recommended Use
Stock 0 HP Factory-like output with calibration matched to the installed hardware
Level 1 +50 HP Daily driving and light towing
Level 2 +100 HP Balanced street performance
Level 3 +150 HP Higher performance with a mechanically sound truck
Level 4 +200 HP Highest output for properly prepared off road or competition applications

Operating Characteristic Expected Result
Fuel Efficiency May improve with a conservative tune and sensible driving; no fixed MPG increase is guaranteed.
Towing The +50 HP setting provides additional usable power without the load associated with the highest tune.
Airflow The selected exhaust reduces restriction compared with the original pipe configuration.
Monitoring Supported engine parameters and diagnostic information can be viewed through the SCT BDX.
Reliability Reduced EGR soot contamination may address one common issue, but it cannot correct existing mechanical faults.
Return to Factory Requires the original hardware to be reinstalled and a compatible stock calibration to be restored.

Actual performance depends on engine condition, supporting modifications, fuel quality, load, tire size, and tune selection.

Optional Add-Ons

  • 4-Inch Exhaust System – provides balanced flow, practical clearance, and a moderate exhaust tone.
  • 5-Inch Exhaust System – provides greater pipe volume and a deeper sound.
  • With Muffler – reduces exterior volume and cabin drone.
  • No Muffler – produces a louder, more aggressive exhaust note.

Key Benefits

Complete Package
Combines the BDX tuner, custom files, EGR hardware, and selected exhaust solution.

Vehicle-Specific Tuning
Files are created for the submitted VIN and truck configuration.

Reduced Intake Soot
Removing EGR recirculation helps keep soot out of the intake system.

Selectable Power Levels
Choose from stock output or gains of +50, +100, +150, or +200 horsepower.

Configurable Exhaust
Multiple size and sound options allow the system to match the intended use.

Installation Information

The full package includes instructions and may be installed by someone with appropriate mechanical and computer skills. Recommended tools include sockets, wrenches, extensions, hose-clamp pliers, a drain pan, torque tools, penetrating oil, anti-seize, and properly rated jack stands or a lift.

Mechanical installation generally takes 4–8 hours because removing the EGR cooler requires access to tight engine-bay areas and rerouting coolant lines. Exhaust-only work is typically faster. Custom tune preparation takes approximately 2–5 business days after the correct information is received, while BDX flashing usually takes 30–60 minutes.

Keep the batteries at a stable charge during programming and do not disconnect the tuner. After installation, check coolant connections, block-off plates, exhaust joints, and clearances for leaks. An experienced diesel shop is recommended when mechanical access or electronic tuning is unfamiliar. Any future undelete procedure requires reinstalling the factory parts and restoring the original calibration.

No More Emissions Codes

Correct EGR hardware installation and matching tuning are intended to prevent recurring codes associated with the removed EGR components. Previously stored faults may still need to be cleared after programming.

  • P0401 – Insufficient EGR flow.
  • P0402 – Excessive EGR flow.
  • P0403 – EGR control circuit fault.
  • P0404 – EGR control range or performance fault.
  • P0405 – EGR sensor circuit low.
  • P0406 – EGR sensor circuit high.
  • P0487 – EGR throttle control circuit fault.
  • P0488 – EGR throttle position range or performance fault.

DPF regeneration and DEF/SCR codes do not apply because the 2003–2007 6.0L engine was not factory-equipped with those systems.

FAQ

The package combines custom BDX tuning, a complete EGR removal solution, and selectable exhaust components. It is configured for supported Pickup models rather than marketed as a universal kit.

The BDX stores multiple custom files, installs tunes through the OBD-II port, and displays supported diagnostic and engine information. Custom tuning allows the calibration to match the exact truck and installed parts.

Yes. Available files provide gains of up to +200 HP. Higher settings require a healthy engine and appropriate supporting upgrades, while +50 HP is the more suitable choice for daily use or towing.

Efficiency may improve with conservative tuning and careful driving, but no fixed result can be promised. Load, speed, gearing, maintenance, and driving habits all affect fuel use.

The 6.0 Powerstroke EGR delete kit can reduce soot accumulation associated with EGR operation. Overall reliability still depends on installation quality, cooling-system condition, maintenance, and the health of the engine, turbocharger, injectors, and transmission.

Yes, if you have suitable tools and experience with exhaust, coolant, and electronic tuning work. Professional installation remains the most reliable option for owners unfamiliar with these procedures.
