FAQ

It removes the DPF, DEF, and EGR systems from the 3.0L Duramax - both the hardware and the ECM calibration. The 3-inch Turbo-Back exhaust replaces the restrictive factory DPF and catalytic converter section. The EGR delete stops carbon from recirculating into the intake. The tuning updates the ECM calibration so the engine operates correctly without emissions-related fault codes. Tune levels run from Stock Optimized (near-stock power output, emissions off) to Race (+40HP). No more forced regens, no DEF refills, and cleaner airflow through the intake.

It's compatible with 2020, 2021, and early 2022 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 trucks that have the E46 ECM. Late 2022 models with the E66/Global B ECM and fully digital instrument cluster aren't supported - those use a different ECM architecture that can't be unlocked with this tool. If you're unsure which ECM your truck has, send us your VIN and we'll confirm before you buy.

You'll see better fuel economy because the engine isn't running forced regen cycles anymore. The factory aftertreatment system adds exhaust restriction, especially during active regeneration cycles. Most LM2 owners report noticeable improvement on highway. Short-trip drivers who dealt with constant regens see the biggest difference. The Tow tune is calibrated for efficiency under load.

The exhaust and EGR delete are bolt-on jobs - most owners with jack stands and basic tools can handle those. The tuning side requires more steps: the ECM E46 must be removed from the truck and shipped out for the unlock service before the OBD-II flash can be performed. Plan for about a week of downtime while the ECM is out. Once it's back and unlocked, the tuning flash takes minutes through the OBD-II port. We're available by phone if you need help during any part of the process.
